Beaches
From our house there are several very nice beaches reachable.
- Turtle Beach, 2 minute walk (see photo right)
- Mount Irvine beach (surfing, sailing and snorkeling), about 3 km with a collective taxi or on foot
- Back-Bay, 20 min walk (Robinson Beach! Please do not bring valuables)
- Mount Irvine Surfstrand (surfing, snorkeling), about 3 km with a collective taxi or on foot
- Bucco Bay, nice to run about 5 km long
- Grafton Bay, 10 min walk
Pigeon Point and Store Bay near the airport about 15 km with a collective taxi or private car,for trips to Englishman's Bay, Parlatouvier Bay, Castara, Speyside and Charlotteville or the rainforest and several waterfalls, a private car or taxi is necessary,a guide could be organised for you.
Shopping
In the village there are 2 small supermarkets, 1 bar and 3 restaurants. Larger shops and a large market with exotic fruits, vegetables and fish are found in the capital, Scarborough which is about 15 minutes by bus, shared taxi or rental car to reach. Fresh fish is available in Mount Irvine, ca 3 km away from about 4 pm.
Other
A waterfall above Black Rock in about 20 minutes walking distance. Small excursions on foot or by mountain bike in the neighbourhood to open a nice insight into the way of life and the nature of Tobago and its people.
